We operate in the telecommunications market, and focus on providing Internet access via fiber optics.
Our story began in early 1997, when Denio Alves Lindo, a current shareholder of the Company, founded Desktop Online Informática. We were effectively incorporated on July 2006. As of May 31, 2021, we had 321,000 active subscribers operating in 53 cities in the state of São Paulo.
On January 21, 2019, we merged with SigmaBBS Comércio e Informação por Teleprocessamento Ltda., and sought to start the consolidation process for our activities and achieve greater synergy between companies belonging to our group’s corporate structure.
In January 2020, H.I.G, a global private equity manager with investments in small and medium-sized companies, and currently managing over US$ 44 billion (based on the total committed capital managed by H.I.G. and its affiliates), acquired 60% of our share capital.
After H.I.G.’s entry, we further accelerated our growth, benefiting from the relevant experience of our new shareholder in expanding our projects. As a result, our business development and expansions strategies, both organic and inorganic, have since been largely intensified, with a focus on the state of São Paulo.
Further seeking to simplify our corporate structure, and to optimize synergies and generate operational efficiency, we incorporated our subsidiary DIS Provedor de Serviços de Conexão Internet Ltda. or DIS, on May 15, 2020.
On July 21, 2021, the Company went public, carrying out a Initial Public Offering of of 30,435,000 shares at a price of R$23.50 per share (“Price per Share”), totaling R$715,222,500.00.
Also in 2021, the Company underwent a corporate reorganization in order to simplify its structure through the merger, by the Company, of three holding companies that held a direct or indirect interest in the Company, namely: Deodoro Participações S.A., Santo Cristo Participações S.A. and DSN Participações S.A. On December 22, 2021, after approval at the Extraordinary General Meeting, the Company changed its corporate name from Desktop – Sigmanet Comunicação Multimídia S.A. to Desktop S.A. Additionally, at the same EGM, the merger of the entire equity, and consequent extinction, of ISSO Internet e Telecomunicações Ltda. by Desktop.
In the context of inorganic growth, in August and November 2020 the Company acquired an equity interest in ISSO Internet e Telecomunicações Ltda.-ME and Netell Internet Ltda., respectively. In 2021, the Company completed five acquisitions, namely: Netion Soluções em Internet Via Rádio S.A., in March; C-Lig Telecomunicações S.A, in May; Starnet Telecomunicações Ltda., in August; Net Barretos Participações S.A., in November, and; LPNet Telecomunicações Ltda., Velus Serviços de Comunicações Ltda., Netstyle Comércio de Equipamentos de Informática Ltda., Silva e Silveira Provedor de Internet Ltda. and LPNet Serviços de Cobrança Ltda. (collectively, “LPNet”) in December. In January 2022, the Company concluded the acquisition of Infolog TI Tecnologia Ltda.
